URGENT – WEATHER MESSAGE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TALLAHASSEE FL
422 AM EDT WED OCT 8 2014

a dense fog advisory is now in effect until 10 AM EDT /9 AM
cdt/ this morning, for southeast alabama, southwestern portions of southwest georgia, and all of the florida big bend and
panhandle…

a fairly large area of fog has developed across much of the tri- state region overnight, and it is slowly spreading off to the north and east while gradually becoming more dense. however, the thickness of the fog layer is expected to remain fairly shallow in nature, which will likely cause visibilities to vary greatly over short distances in time and location, making driving conditions especially dangerous. visibilities are expected to drop to 1/4 mile or less in most areas, but could occasionally rise to between 3 and 5 miles in some locations. this fog should burn off and lift by 10 AM EDT /9 AM CDT this morning.
